Ruger Redhawk

Hopefully this is not a dumb question, can the linked handgun below actually fire all of these different rounds?? It says it is chambered for them?

No, it's available in all those chamber sizes listed, though.

Super nice large revolvers IMO..........the 44-mag is one of the kinder ones to shoot with easy to manage recoil (better than S&W).

I have one of the old 3 screw single action .44 Blackhawks, I've owned it since 1968.....I think I paid $165.00 for it,hard to find a much better pistola. I recently re-blued it (black actually) based on info from GIM, came out nice.

I have a Ruger SuperRedhawk in 454 Casull Magnum. It can fire both the high pressure Casull load for hunting or the more common old 45 Colt the cowboys used to shoot. The Casull round screams, with the fastest factory ammo being Hornady's 240grain 2000 foot per second load. While the common 45 Colt 250grain slug moves at 900 fps. Versatility...

It is tempting.....

Very sweet piece! I think if you buy the Redhawk or especially the Super...get the 7 1/2" barrel. It's just right for this gun.
Polish the action and buy a spring kit ( comes wih 3 different springs), to lighten the pull.
Love the Blackhawk too in 9 1/2".

I had a Magnaported Redhawk in .44 Mag. One of the very few handguns I regret trading. :banghead:
Take care,

If you do not own a 44 mag yet....go for the 454.....and mostly shoot the 45LC.

Set aside $100and get a simple Lee Reolding press/kit.....save a ton on ammo....and a nice hobby.

44Mag is nice...and works pretty good on deer....but be ready to do some tracking.....I have no experience with 454....but would imaging much better ability to kill deer.

No pistol (except perhaps a 454...or similar) will kill deer even close to the performance of a riflr or even a shotgun. It would be nice to drop them right in their tracks with a pistol.

Just my guess.

I have a Lee turret press. Can assemble 454 reloads for 13 cents each vs $1.75 for factory hunting cartridges. And that's even with buying all of the components retail.

Bump.

A .44 Super Redhawk is an excellent gun in 7.5". Very sturdy, lots of metal.

You can reload it down ( about 8.0gr. Unique, 240gr. SWC(check your book) ) for some plinking fun. Sort of like a .44 special on steroids.

Maximum loads will give an impressive muzzle flash and sharp recoil.

A fun revolver.

Formidable.

I just picked up a 3 screw 357 ( taking it hog hunting in the near future) thank god it was not converted yet adds more value not as safe- but just have to use your head and rest the hammer on a empty chamber.

has your .44 been converted
